Why it takes a few sessions
Hair grows in cycles, and only hair in its growth phase responds to treatment.
- 01
Light
Laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair.
- 02
Heat
The heat reaches the follicle and slows its ability to regrow.
- 03
Cycles
Sessions are spaced a few weeks apart to catch each growth cycle.
- 04
Reduction
Hair becomes finer and sparser with each session.
Before, during and after
Before
Shave the area the day before. Avoid waxing, plucking and tanning for four weeks before your session.
During
The area is cooled as we treat. Most people feel a quick snapping sensation.
After
Mild redness can last a few hours. Treated hairs shed over one to three weeks. Protect the area from the sun.
Good to know
Does it hurt?
Most people describe a quick snap, like a rubber band. Cooling keeps you comfortable.
Is it permanent?
Laser gives long-term hair reduction. Some people need an occasional maintenance session.
Does it work on darker skin?
Yes, with the right settings. Your specialist checks your skin type and tests the area first.
Can I wax between sessions?
No. Shaving is fine, but waxing and plucking remove the root the laser needs to reach.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need six to eight sessions, depending on the area and hair type.
